What is a letter of subscription?
According to the definition of the law, a subscription letter is "an accompanying document to an insurance policy that includes conditions for the provision of service to the insured by a service provider". In the professional jargon of the insurance world, subscription letters are also called "riders".
Following the reform of the subscription letters on December 16, 2014, which was instituted by the Commissioner of the Capital Market, Insurance and Savings, Dorit Salinger, most of the subscription letters for health and home insurance that are attached to the insurance policies and were sold by the insurance companies were canceled, and since then anyone can buy the subscription letter directly from the service provider in order to encourage competition in the market.
