What is a letter of service?
According to the definition of the law, a service letter is "an accompanying document to an insurance policy that includes conditions for the provision of service to the insured by a service provider".
In the professional jargon of the insurance world, service letters are also called "riders".
Following the reform of the service letters on December 16, 2014, which was instituted by the Commissioner of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings Dorit Salinger, most of the service letters in health and home insurance that are attached to the insurance policies and were sold by the insurance companies were canceled, and since then anyone can buy the service letter directly from the service provider in order to encourage competition in the market.
